Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The View Hotel enjoys a prime location right on the seafront, offering spacious, clean rooms, with many appreciating the sea views from the dining room during breakfast. Guests often comment on the modern decor of the ground floor. While the breakfast buffet is generally well-received, a few guests have found the flavors a bit bland. The hotel is conveniently located near the beach and the charming center of Eastbourne, and some have found the parking arrangements, with the option to purchase parking tickets at reception, to be helpful.

i enjoyed the location near the beach.. the bar had a good selection. the staff was nice. the room was comfortable.
the service was slow. drinks came out wrong, and it took a while to correct it. our bill had incorrect information.. we waited for the corrected version for a long time. the card machine was not brought to the table, so payments were slow.

spacious roomdouble showerbalcony view
the room was very spacious, parking my mobility scooter presented no issue. the bathroom included two showers at opposite ends. i liked the two balconies, though a small table would have been useful.
The windows were quite dirty. This detracted slightly from the balcony view.

poor mattresspoor reception
I had some issues . the mattress in my room was not very good. it wasn't awful, but it definitely affected my sleep. also, the reception staff seemed quite poor. They didn't. i was also surprised to be asked to pay for my stay in advance and felt a bit untrusted when i tried to use my apple watch. the whole experience at check-in. also, as i came and went, nobody ever greeted me or checked that i was enjoying my stay.

I encountered a couple of issues that dampened my stay. the heating controls were faulty in my room and, despite reporting it, the repair was not effective. later, on my final morning, the shower was stuck and wouldn't turn on. I had to make do with washing in the sink.
